I have been working with client technology since 2010 when I was working at the Baalderborg Group. For example, I saw the added value of accessible technology in practice early on. And when I started a medical process myself, I was able to experience first-hand what the positive effect of VRelax can be.

In 2021 I had to enter a trajectory with the gynaecologist. The values of the home test smear were not good. This has developed to the point that a biopsy had to be taken. Since my children's pregnancies, these treatments have become more painful. So when I heard that I had to have a biopsy taken and I had access to VRelax, it was clear to me. Now the time had come to try VRelax in practice as a patient. I took the VRelax glasses with me to the treatment. My gynecologist, doctor Wüst, was very interested in the technique. She asked questions about its use and wanted to try it out for herself. The assistant also wore the glasses. It was great that there was such an enthusiastic response right away. In the chair I put on the glasses. Doctor Wüst occasionally asked what I saw. I was swimming underwater with dolphins.

I felt the biopsy was over in no time and it was even less painful than a regular Pap smear! Normally I think this should be the other way around. When it turned out that the tissue indeed had to be removed, I didn't have to think twice. VRelax went along! This treatment also went much better than expected in terms of discomfort. VRelax has really contributed to a better experience with less pain. Doctor Wüst was also very enthusiastic about the use and has continued this in her practice.

I hope that more people will experience the benefits of the distracting power of Virtual Reality in various treatments and in this case with gynecological procedures in particular. As far as I can see, this is not yet (or with little publicity) used in gynecological procedures, while the difference can be enormous. That is why I am very happy with my doctor, Mrs. Wüst, who will continue to work on this subject. Hopefully many more doctors will follow after her.
