Nurse Dept. Cardiology / MST Enschede.

In consultation with my health and safety doctor I was allowed to use the VRelax glasses because of my burn-out complaints and my reaction to stimuli / pressure from outside. This has given me a very good result. I work as a nurse at the Cardiology department at the MST in Enschede. Halfway through my AT hours (currently I am at 2 times 6 hours) I use the glasses for about 10-15 minutes.

From a lot of pressure in my head due to the many stimuli that come in, and the idea that your head is in a kind of beehive, I come back rested, relaxed and full of energy! I try to reduce this, but notice that I still need it after 5 hours, because all my energy can suddenly be gone. My head still wants to go on, but my body says: “Stop” this far and no further. When I come home, there is still energy left and I can continue for a while.

I also use the VRelax glasses at home when we have had a visit from acquaintances who want to tell their story. Yet that sucks all the energy out of me, because you want to be a listening ear. By using the VRelax glasses afterwards, my energy level is replenished.

“The sunny river” is my favorite. At the water's edge, the chirping of the birds, the rippling of the water and some leaves that flutter down. This gives me the rest I need for a while so that my energy level rises again. You really get off the department for a while and really think you're sitting on that waterfront. Last summer this inspired me to mimic this situation. A swimming pool in the garden, bobbing on an air mattress, in combination with a water feature and the birds in the garden. Nice!

During my AT hours in the department, I tried to make colleagues enthusiastic about using the glasses. The results were very variable. One got tired, the other dizzy, a third hyperactive. I have noticed that colleagues don't always think about it, or can't make the time for it. I think that's a shame, because the result is so good. Even though it is still experimental for our department, for me the use of the VRelax glasses has been successful!
